How do I build my online CV?

Creating your online CV profile is a simple process. First, create an account with CV Demon with your personal details and password. When you have signed up, you are then ready to build your CV profile and start using it.

Click on “edit CV”. Here you can add fields specific to displaying different kinds of CV information. For example you can create an employment history field, which gives you options of dates you were employed, then the title for your job and then a description of your job. If you have a word document with your CV all you have to do is copy and paste your information into the relevant fields provided. You can add new fields with you own titles by clicking ‘add a custom field’ and selecting a title.

CV settings…

To help your CV appear in the CV searches performed by employers, please complete all elements of your CV settings and preferences. What minimum salary you require, what job sector you wish to work in, which areas of the country or other countries you would like to work and so on. This will increase your chances of being head hunted for the right position.

Creating a portfolio…

It’s simple. Upload your images files in the ‘edit portfolio’ section on your profile. You can organise files into categories to be shown together. This makes viewing your work easier for employers. Maximum file sizes apply.

Creating and uploading a Video CV…

Video CVs use the latest technology to give employers information about you as a person. Simply record yourself talking about your relevant work experience and skills, upload the video to youtube and paste the url into your video CV page. The idea is that you can interview yourself so employers can judge your communication skills and personal qualities before they meet you. It’s your chance to impress them! So get one step ahead of the competition now.

  • Why am I a good employee?
  • What skills do I have?
  • What will I do to improve your business?

Keep it short and meaningful. Max file sizes apply.
